After far too long of a wait, Microsoft has finally introduced a proper web interface for Windows Phone Marketplace. You can search for apps that you like, and once you find one you’re keen on, it’ll email a link to your live account, allowing you to grab it on your phone.
For now, it appears that this version is Mango only, and if your phone is on an older edition of WP7 you might get the error “requires a newer software version” if you try and download one.
With more than 30,000 apps available, that should give you plenty to search through and nose around with.
It should be noted that emailing the link is only one option. The other, and more preferred, is that it will using the messaging system to send a silent message to your phone at which time the phone will automatically download and install the app. Its really quite slick.
That is an awesome feature!!!
