According to IStartedSomething the quest to jailbreak Windows Phone 7 got its first step in the right direction, with the first successful running of non-Microsoft approved code on the platform. While the actual details are a bit beyond my ken, it appears as though the developer noticed that a Samsung app was running “native” code, not Silverlight code, which is what all non-Microsoft apps are meant to use.
Using this loophole, he managed to inject a small piece of new code.
Now we wait for those wonderful folks from XDA-Developers to take the next step, and before you know it, there will be a thriving jailbreak community, just like there is on iOS.
