Microsoft is releasing a version of Windows Home Server that will play nicely with your shiny new WP7 phone, called Vail. While it’s not quite available yet, when you have everything up and running, you can access “My Server” from your phone, which allows you to manage alerts, stream music and videos from the server, and send photos back to it — though not other types of media.
There’s been a lot of flack from longtime users of Windows Home Server due to the nixing of Drive Extender which allows redundant backing up of your files.
