What to expect from the Nokia event this week and more information on the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 Windows Phones

Tomorrow is a big day for the Windows Phone world, that is if you have any interest in what Nokia will announce for their Windows Phone 7.8/8 devices. Microsoft will also be present at the event, remember they are partners for Windows Phone after all. However, Microsoft is simply expected to reveal more Windows Phone 7.8/8 features, and hopefully some release dates.

Let’s talk about Nokia and their two expected, and already leaked, Windows Phones: the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920. Both devices will feature wireless charging, which through inductive circuitry and a specifically-designed base will allow the Windows Phone to charge by being placed on the charging station. Nokia is believed to have developed their own charging technology which is compatible with the Qi wireless charging standard. This means the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 will be compatible with a collection of charging bases and accessories, all wireless.

Now, for some more details on the hardware of each device. The Lumia 820 Windows Phone we already knew featured a 4.3″ display. Now, there is more information that it will include microSD support to expand storage, a dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, and an 8MP rear camera. Oh, one more thing, the Lumia 820 will feature “exchangeable covers”, we will wait for an official announcement on that feature however because it could mean a couple of different things.

The colors of the Lumia 820

The Lumia 820 will be a close shadow to the Lumia 920. The Lumia 920 is already known to boast a 4.5″ display, PureView technology, and front-facing camera. However, now we know the megapixel power of that PureView camera, and it is also 8MP. Like we said, the Lumia 820 is a close follow-up to the Lumia 920. We have yet to find out any other information about the Lumia 920, but it is a good thing the event is less than 24 hours away. A new image of Lumia 920 renders has also shown up, revealing white and black color options, pictured below.
