U.S. Cellular will be joining the list of carriers to carry future Windows Phone 8 devices this fall 2012. That means the four confirmed big carriers of future Windows Phones will be U.S. Cellular, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. MetroPCS, Sprint, and Cricket have remained vague about whether they will carry Windows Phone 8 devices later this year.
I just got this note from U.S. Cellular’s public relations department: “We believe in giving our customers the latest technology and device options and we are excited about the Windows 8 phone. It will be an important part of our device lineup going forward.”
U.S. Cellular has just recently launched their own 4G LTE network, and thus are expected to carry one of the best lineups of Windows Phone 8 devices. As the end of 2012 approaches, more information will surely release on which Windows Phone 8 devices will be available through each carrier. U.S. Cellular, being the nation’s seventh largest carrier with 5.8 million customers, will surely have a promising lineup available.
