Microsoft To Adopt Dual Platform Strategy

Earlier today, we wrote about Windows Mobile 7 being delayed until Q4 2010. Digitimes reports that Microsoft will not phase out Windows Mobile 6.5 at the introduction of Windows Mobile 7, but rather the company is adopting a dual platform strategy. Windows Mobile 6.5, due out in October, will receive a “touch interface” update in Q1. When Windows Mobile 7 launches in Q4 1010, Microsoft will offer manufacturers a lower OS price on 6.5.

If you add the rumored “Pink” OS, that effectively means a three platform strategy.
