What IM Software Do YOU Use?
Hey guys what's up? I've searched around and haven't found a topic like this posted anywhere, unless im blind! anyways, I would just like to get a general concensus on what Im'ing apps you guys are using, as i will also post my findings on the apps that I have tried and what i have found.
Palringo http://www.palringo.com
This is what I am currently using at this moment
Pros: Great battery life consumption, low memory usage, easy to use, FREE!
Cons: Horrible space realestate (not much space for contact list), no vibrate+sound alerts, file transfer is limited to pictures and voice messages
Slick IM http://lonelycatgames.com
Pros: Great interface, low memory usage, sound+vibrate alerts, unlimited file transfer capabilities
Cons: Constant server outages, medium battery consumption (hard to last a full day with having a few conversations going on througout the day)
OctroTalk
Not a bad program, although after a while of usage it starts to move real slowly, i don't know if this is just my phone, but ive tried twice on two hard resets and same results
Fring http://www.fring.com
Amazing program, low memory footprint, great battery consumption. Although the biggest downfall is the fact that it is a Voip program which is its main focus. No file transfer capabilities, and when you select a person to chat, default option is to call them rather than chat. very annoying
Agile Messenger
I tried the demo version but I don't think its worth the money, so I'm not too sure about this
IM+ Shape Services
Very disappointed in what they're charging for this as opposed to the features they offer. Brutal features, not worth the money, plus for some odd reason i cannot connect to msn.
Beejive "jive talk" http://www.beejive.com
Very nice interface, although it hogs way too much memory (around 10 megs worth) battery hogger to say the least, and runs very slow on my phone (once again 2 hard resets, doesn't work well, so i gave up)
---
Those are pretty much the main players out there to my knowledge.
What programs are you using yourself?
Obviously I am looking for something with low memory consumption, great battery life, and the ability for mainly gtalk and msn connnectivity!
Once again, sorry if this has been posted, but I wasn't able to find something recent within the search function!

Me too. Palringo and Slick. More Palringo...considering I use the desktop version too!

It's MunduIM for me, does everything I need in an Instant Messenger although I have to admit I'm not a heavy user of it.
If memory serves me right it was part of Free App Friday last year! :-)

how often do you use it daily and for what services (msn, gtalk, aim)?
also, how do you find the battery life?
I love slick for all its features although here are some quirks i have.
For some reason when i open slick, and press connnect, itll close by itself. I have to do this like 4-5 times before it actually connects. Or i have to navigate in the menus, then just go back and click connect. Its really weird.

MunduIM for me, got it back in the free app friday days
Seems to work great when I need it, but I also don't use it on a daily

mundu and the aim beta here

I use OctroTalk mainly. If it has a connection problem, I use Slick as a backup. I like with Octro having all my IM's saved in my gmail account.
