I found a new one to me that I been playing around with called Nimbuzz. Seems pretty spiffy so far and connects to more networks than you can shake a stick at. Oh plus it's freeware![]()

Giving Nimbuzz a try... looks like it might be better than Palringo.
[EDIT]
Tried Nimbuzz... meh... it was okay. The only thing that perked my interest was that someone said it could access social networking (Which I guess is translated as "Myspace") ... so the lack of Facebook support was pretty much a deal killer here.
Like I said... good interface... but it was a bit sluggish and file transfer features are spotty. In fact file transfers for Google Talk are greyed out while they're open for MSN.
I'll have to keep an eye on this one, but it's a decent chat program.

I use Agile Mobile and the only issue I've had is sometimes Yahoo can take a few seconds to sign into. I love it, and the cost is $11.95 every quarter. It allows most popular services and you can exchange files, video, voice, and pictures.

I just found this. Haven't played with it yet though. Guess it only works if you use Trillian like I do.

Is there an IM program that uses texts instead of data? On my old phone AIM came pre-installed and just used texts, and was wondering if there was something like that for the Q
I think it depends on what carrier you have. For instance, Sprint uses the OZ messaging program.
You should either have one preinstalled or a link to one that can install provided by your carrier.

Yea, I used to have a pre-installed one on my TERRIBLE SCOOP, I know I'm gonna get laughed at for having that phone...but I did hahah. But I don't have a pre-installed one on my Q, only MSN which I don't think anyone actually uses.

I use the AIM for Mobile app. Been through a lot of beta releases on it, but they're stable, work well, free, dont seem to be a resource pig moreso than any other app, etc. Also like the fact that an exit is an exit on this app, not the standard WinMo exit is really only a minimize.
Price is right, performance is right for the price, features work well.

likewise if MSN Live Messenger in your game, the official client runs very well... as well as can send files, voice clips, and pictures.
However it does like to run in the background, so you have to kill the process to get rid of it.
