Nuevasync.com - Free Push GCal and Contacts Sync...Gmail soon?
With the recent problems Apple has had with their new push service, a lot of people are promoting this new website www.nuevasync.com as a free replacement. It allows ota syncing of Gcal and Contacts (incl Plaxo).
From their website:
NuevaSync allows direct, over-the-air, native synchronization of certain smart phones and PDA devices with public PIM, and calendaring services including Google Calendar. NuevaSync does not need any software installed on your device because it uses synchronization protocols that are already built in.
Supported Devices
* Apple iPhone® 2.0, iPhone® 3G and iPod® touch 2.0
* Windows Mobile® based PDAs and smartphones
The app uses an exchange server, therefore it should work on a Q9c. Has anyone tried this and can confirm that it works? Does it sync just the main calendar or all? TIA

I'm interested in another solution to getting pushed.
I'm trying PushEffects and are'nt 100% happy with it.
I like the way exchange servers works, i.e. MobiPush, if one spoorts multiple folders I'm there.

Just to play devils advocate here, doesn't this mean you need to have a data connection that is on ALL the time and also mean that your personal email, calendars, task and so on are in some form or another stored on someone else's server? Also you have to give them usernames/passwords to store to access these resources, right? Just saying, careful.

PE is by far the safest one out there, there has to be a reason theses services are free.

Good to know and indeed true, there has to be a reason. Just not sure the reason makes them safer or not, only time will tell.

We don't know if any of them are safe really.
I guess will tell. I'll assume they're collecting info which can be sold, nothing if free even our mail and apps aereew there to generate ad revenue foer the companies.
It's something I'm still getting used to but oh well...
