I definitely restored my settings as soon as I saw that. I really like OctroTalk, though. I used to have Agile Mobile (when it was free) and it would use up my battery very quickly. Not only that, but the IMs wouldn't show up in their own tabs like they do on Octro, you actually had to hunt through your buddylist to find a little checkmark next to the screenname of the person who IMed you. Another plus that Agile didn't have is that you can actually put up custom away messages and easily change your online status. Octro is far more convenient, and for being freeware I think it's pretty damned good.
Octro only shows one tab for messages at a time sadly, last I checked anyway, showing the most recent message. The is the buddylist tab, and the last IM tab, you still have to pull up a menu if you are having a conversation with more than one person.
Unless this changed recently, which would be quite nice if it did...?
- ZATZAi : FEATURES : USER GUIDE - MISSED CALLS & TXT REPLY - GMAIL - IM
- ZATZAi : ISSUES : MISSED CALLS & EVDO - SPRINT MMS - BATTERY LIFE
- ZATZAi : DIY : HACKS - MOVIES - EXCHANGE PUSH EMAIL
Well yes, you pull up a menu to get to your other conversations. But, look at the alternatives to find out why a lot of people are starting to use octrotalk. IM+ and WebMessenger - no sound after first message comes in (yuck!) Agile - your messages actually get truncated if they're too big. Octro is not perfect either. It does kinda annoy me that the site that runs octro is in essence getting your passwords for all accounts other than google talk and then logging into these other accounts in your name for you and then communicating their activities to you through an account named AIM Transport (and transport for any other accounts you have). This is a tad annoying and any of you can correct me if this is not the case but that's how it appears to work. That said, it still seems like the best messenger app to use. Good solution but I'm still hoping someone gets it perfect soon.
