You're saying the youtube app only plays the mobile version of the youtube videos? Let's get straight what we are talking about.
There is the Full YouTube version website we see with a PC. Skyfire and TCPMP also watch this version typically.
There is the mobile YouTube version website that has some of the videos converted for playback on a phone. Plays in WMP.
There is the YouTube app that originally came out on the iphone but is now available for WM too. You download the app from the mobile youtube site. It installs as an icon in your start menu, like the googlemap app.
