Default Vista and XP Bluetooth Sync Fix Posted on Microsoft

Microsofts Windows mobile device website gave registry regedit information to get your Q's Bluetooth to sync with windows mobile device center. I'll copy and paste it here. Has anyone got this to work with a dongle or usb BT device. My registry doesn't contain the Key. I'm still working on it though.
I posted the link to the site at the bottom it says the same thing though
  •
The Motorola Q phone cannot connect to Windows Vista via Bluetooth The Motorola Q uses the Broadcom Bluetooth stack which has a fundamental issue that does not allow it to connect to Windows XP and Windows Vista.

    •
On your PC, change the registry key “HKLM\software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services” SerialPort value from “Bluetooth” to “COM3” (or whatever you need)
    • Reboot the PC
    • Connect the device

  •
If this does not work, please try the following:

    •
Moto Q: BT Manager / Settings:
      •
- Check Bluetooth On
      • - Check Allow other BT devices to see this phone

PC: Control Panel / Bluetooth Devices
      •
- Options: Check Turn discovery on

- Options: Check Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer
      • - Devices tab: Add; Check My device is ready to set up

Add Bluetooth Device Wizard
      •
- PC: Select New device (GMQ), Next

- PC: Choose a passkey for me

- Moto Q: Bluetooth Manager Passkey (may need to jog BT Manager if this doesn't appear) - Enter passkey, Accept

- PC: Installing Bluetooth device

- Moto Q: Bluetooth Authorization: Accept all connections from this device, Accept
      • - PC: Note Incoming COM port #, Finish

PC: Edit registry HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services: SerialPort=COM5, SerialBaudRate=dword:0001c200

PC from elevated command prompt: net stop wcescomm && net start wcescomm -or- reboot
    • Moto Q: ActiveSync / Menu / Connect via Bluetooth
    • Moto Q: Bluetooth Manager: Add, Search, Select computer
Here is the link to the site, You'll have to scroll Down to find it.

Does your vista BT work with other devices? Can you check the com settings for your BT reciever? I set mine to COM7 in WMDC connection settings because thats the port it was using, NOT bluetooth. I leave my BT manager running in the background... also a thing called BT PAN server which i think means Personal area network.

On my Q under BT settings, I go to BT manager-> personal network -> add ... it finds my computer...

Then on activesync on the Q i click menu-->connect via BT-->choose my PC .... it then says "connected" Then I hit the left soft key to sync. It doesnt respond for a few seconds, and then the sync begins.

I can connect to the device with bluetooth just fine. I just cannot get active sync to see it.

I was able to use the pdaNet DUN connection to connect to the internet via sprint using bluetooth.

I will try using the PAN connection and see if that helps with the active sync.
