WM 6.5 ROM - SMS Send Notification

When I had the 6.1 ROM installed on my Ozone I successfully hacked the registry and set the SMSNoSentMsg entry to 1. This thankfully turned off the annoying SMS Notifcation.

However, after installing the 6.5 ROM I have been unable to disable this feature. I've tried changing the same registry entry from 1 (Default is 1 with 6.5 ROM) to 0 and back and forth but nothing makes a difference. I can't stand this SMS Notification on this phone.

Has anyone else had any luck in removing this feature?

K so do I need some other type of program to make this work? I'm a noob to all this stuff and when I click to download, my PC says it doesn't know what type of program to open it with... And well, neither do I...

    Can someone help please?

Download it to your computer, transfer it to your phone and copy it into your \Windows folder

Looks like it is a .rar file. It has to be unrared first. Use WinZip or IZArc. I guess Windows can't handle .rar compression.

The .exe goes on your phone.

It is supposed to be one .exe file. Click extract. If you double click the file name WinZip will try to run it on your computer.

Ok... so after walking away for a few to get my stress level down, it somewho decided to work sending it to my phone... So I did that, rebooted but still has the message. I looked in my \Windows file and there are 4 HTC Message files... HTCMessage, HTC Message.exe.0409, HTC Message.exe.0C0A and HTCMessage-1 (which is the one that I just sent to my phone...) which one do I need to overwrite or should I delete one of these??

According to the XDA post it is HTCMessage.exe.

    * You prolly need to rename the -1 file to overwrite the original. It might take Total Commander to get the job done.

A file manager. Did you try to rename the -1 file?

Thanks! So is that something I save to the comp and download to the phone? And if I do save it to the phone, where does it "need" to be saved?

For downloading directly from the phone, I just uploaded a zip version "temporarily" to my site. It'll probably be there for a few years with how often I clean stuff up, but just know it might disappear at some point in the future.

    HTCMessage.zip
