Hah, ive been running WM6.1 on my TyTN II for awhile now. But id rather have a Custom ROM rather than the "official" one. Im sure their gonna cram a lot of bloatware on it. Although its a good thing its coming out... finally.

So, any ROM cookers out there for our Moto's?? :tounge:

im running 6.1 on my xv6700, three year old phone..so 6.1 cant be far off for the q, just be nice if the upgrade was available for the silver q..seems its gotten the short end of the stick...i was thinking about doing something like that for the q, but dont know where to start....yes, custom roms are the best...its soo cool running something before its released officially, plus there is word about mobile 7 being hacked and released by the end of the year:2cool:....

Its not that it would be technically impossible to do it on a Q, its just that its a Verizon phone, and Verizon is quite Draconian when it comes to that sort of thing. They'd rather make you pay for a new phone that has it rather than spend their dime updating it for you. Theres no money in that for them, since its a free upgrade for you, when they could get you to resign for 2 years, and buy a new phone.

Yes, custom/leaked ROMS are the deal.

Also an update. I spoke to an AT&T Data Support Specialist (read, the "techies" at AT&T that actually know things) today via Live Chat, and they assured me that the release schedule was 2nd quarter 2008, or April-June, pending any issues.

Now hopefully, they stick to it, and it comes sooner than later. Unfortunately. I forgot to attach the transcript of the chat. But should anyone need it, I can always log on and ask the same question again =)

The following was included in an email from Micosoft's "Your Mobile World".

    The link includes the following:

The "AT&T Moto Q Global" is included in the list.

I have Sprint Q9c, which is on the list. I called Sprint, whom to my surprise was very helpful but no result. I called to Motorola where bunch of robotic idiots from India could care less about what I was telling them.

Actually - if you go to the link he provided - the Q9c is on the list - it's at the bottom.
