How about this one...
Ok, so I've watched the whole keynote speech, and you can take it from me, or watch it for yourself, but here are the phones that the CARRIERS themselves have committed their support for 6.1, as in, guaranteeing that those phones will support 6.1:
AT&T: Samsung BlackJack II, MOTO Q 9h global, Pantech duo, AT&T Tilt by HTC
Sprint: Mogul by HTC, Touch by HTC, MOTO Q 9c, Samsung ACE
You can watch the video yourself:
Near the bottom, you will find a link where you can watch the Keynote speech. The naming of those specific devices I have mentioned above, are towards the very end, around 22 minutes or so.
On a side note, he did commend AT&T very much so for working so closely with Microsoft and supporting 6.1 from the beginning. Yay for us AT&T users =)
those are the phones that engadget listed
i'm SO glad I ditched my Q Black on Verizon, took the early termination fee and everything, and switched to AT&T and the Q9h
I am SO MUCH happier with the call quality, and the quality of the unit itself. WM6 made me that much happier, I hope I get the same feeling about 6.1
the 24% monthly discount I get with my job helps too... :laugh2:
anybody wanna buy a Q Black.. $165 and it's yours!!
Well I pulled that off the Engadget site, but they have more that weren't mentioned at the speech. Maybe they got them from the Microsoft site ????
I would watch the speech, but my Q1 refuses to follow the link.
Burn. Time for an upgrade no ???? :tounge:
current needs don't justify an upgrade. Only minor issues I may have are carrier related.
I was kidding :laugh2:
So I called Customer Support. They don't have any info on the update, and they searched in a database of articles the company maintains to inform reps of things such as updates. Not in there, so its at least 2-6 weeks off from being released, as thats usually the timeframe articles come out before the product does. So, guess we're just gonna have to wait for the official release.
ahhh... * adjusts funny glasses* thats better
hard to tell sometimes. Got some that will switch phones + carriers just to have less than what a cheap 3rd party app would do.
Theres a word I have for those people (other than lazy), "douchebags" =D
hehe that and a few others that shouldn't be posted
Speaking of which though, in that same keynote, they previewed a new desktop like IE version for Windows Mobile that will actually be bundled with Flash Lite and Silverlight. They had the full Youtube page up and running on a 6.1 phone. Pretty knarly.
Of course, this was posted in Engadget too, but just in case anyone was wondering if it was true or not. You know, being April Fool's Day and all.
i wonder what kind of update that will be...and who gets it....
i smell a new thread!!!

* get horse ready *
an updated PIE would be very welcome. I'm still weary about Sprint's portal thing
LOL, you mean like 10 of them ????

LOL, true that.
All the more reason to have stickies no ???? Or more of them. Seriously, I'll write the damn how-to's if you guys promise to post them as such. I'll research everything about the subject in this forum and others, and put them in a concise manual. Anything to save seeing the same topic posted with different titles, every couple of days or so, sometimes multiples at the same time !!!!
that would require people to look at them and or search...
i think we have sometime to worry about this browser

No no. I mean for other stuff, like how to get rid of the Xpress Mail link on the Q9h, how to remove the limitation of the ringtones, complete with links. What good threaded messaging programs there are, maps programs, and tips to get the GPS to function more easily, the answer to whether or not you can stop a message tone, really generic stuff like that.
I think if you sticky some of these things, they wouldn't feel the need to hit the "Post Topic" button so quickly. Or, thats my hope anyway. Just trying to streamline things. That way, people can post in there if they're having trouble. It both frees up threads for more detailed, different problems, and gives people who want to help newbies an easy way to quickly look at the threads. Even just a "Look here first" thread with links to the other threads that host this manual or whatnot, can really go a long way.
But whatever. You and Rudeboy mull it over. My offer still stands. I've gotten so much from this site, I'd like to give something back. The benefit of my wisdom I suppose.
