I tried this on my AT&T Q9h and it said it was already up-to-date. I'm installing the 6.1 update from mexiken now instead.

Who cares?!... Mexiken has already provided us with the real deal..and now that a couple of key registry hacks habe been revealed, it looks like I'll be sticking with it.
Again..thanks Mex. When I get to a PC I will hit that thanks button.

The 55.1 meg file has been there since at least June 10th when another forum member posted the link to it. I still have it downloaded on my pc from June 10th. The name of that file is AT&T_Q9h_Standalone_Update.exe. In it contains an older version of the 8 MB Motorola_Software_Update.exe and a firmware update for the Verizon Q. It was a placeholder back on June 10th and still is a placeholder now. The other link, http://direct.motorola.com/hellomot...ata Cable&chkwarranty=true&hdnShowPage=second, is a download only for Motorla_Software_Update.exe and it does not include any firmware. It is an updated version of the Motorola software update than included with the AT&T_Q9h_Standalone_Update.exe placeholder.

It doesn't really matter anymore since mexiken and verms were gracious enough to provide us with the actual update. I updated my phone with no problems. Well, no problems except for one, I now have to relearn how to customize home screens with the new sliding panels. A small price to pay.

Isn't that the most annoying thing?

I love the sliding panels, but they're not capable of the kind of customisation I want, at least not as supplied.

I've gone back to a custom home.xml that's without the panels until somebody can figure out how to customise the sliding panels xml.

There are at least a few threads by the Sprint Q9c'ers here at EQ that go through customizing Sliding Panels with CHome configurator. Here are a couple good ones:

I downloaded and tried this file but after installation, it told me there is no update for me. Can someone who successfully updated to 6.1 kindly enough to tell the rest of us where to download the real 6.1 ROM with a little instructions? Thanks!

Search | And ye shall find!

SEARCH would be a good tool to use!

    Even so:

    1. Windows Mobile 6.1 Come and get it !:
Make sure you read ALL the posts. Some VERY important information, links and help in the whole thread. Don't try to 'shortcut' this 6.1 process, it will only throw you in a spin.

    2. Need help installing the 6.1 update ???? Read here:
Mexiken has been kind enough to offer this 'help' service. I would suggest you read through the thread linked in 1. above and try to do it yourself. If that fails, then hit Mexiken for some help.
