    Windows Mobile 6.5 Q9C?

I currently have a Sprint Q9c with WinMo 6.1. When 6.5 comes out tomorrow, will I be able to update it to 6.5? If so, how is it done? Thanks

a leaked version may pop up somewhere on the internets.. but it is/will be a use at your own risk

How would you get it to flash on the Q9c? I've only flashed my replacement phone to 6.1 from 6.0 using Motorola Software Update.

most likely you will need to use a program called RSD Lite
you can get the gist of the information by reading the many upgrade Q9m to WM6.1 threads

Darn it, Ive been looking forward to upgrading to 6.5! I dont understand why we cant. If I was able to go from 6.0 to 6.1, why not to 6.5?

well moto has discontinued the Q series and nearly all phones are out of warranty at this point so they cant be upgraded regardless

    just like you cant upgrade a wm5 Q to wm6 you cant upgrade a Q6.1 to 6.5

From what I've read on multiple forums, nobody has yet been able to successfully flash a custom rom to the Q9c. Wouldn't this have to be a custom rom?

im sure it will be some sort of custom rom
there is a thread here that has a Q9h running wm6.5 but with some problems
one member cant get it to switch to english...

its not going to be worth the trouble...
if you want the full effect of 6.5 then you should get a phone that is designed to run it

there are some really sweet phones out there

Eh, next contract upgrade I'm looking for a phone with a touchscreen and full keyboard, something the Touch Pro 2. Think I could live with 6.1 until then.

the TP2 will be able to be upgraded to 6.5

    Luddite

Maybe I'm a luddite, but with the exception of not being able to use on-board GPS, I'm pretty happy with my Q9c (and Navibe GPS receiver) and WM 6.1...

I dread the prospect of getting a new phone with a new operating system only to find that there is some inherent defect that the manufacturer has hidden that produces disappointment (like not being able to use GPS without paying more bucks monthly).

    my blackjack was upgraded

that is not true at all because i upgraded my blackjack (SGH-i607) from 5.0 to 6.0 and then i found a cracked 6.1 and it works amazingly!!!! the phone is basically my child!!!!!!!!!!

And another thing is the blackjack and moto q9 are verrryyyy closely related!

while they might be closely related i can tell you for a fact you can not upgrade a moto Q9 since motorola no longer produces wm products you wont see an official upgrade
there is a 6.5 cooked rom that a few got to work but have issues with...mostly languages...its just not worth it

since samsung is still in the wm game the jack was upgraded
