will qnc mod work after 6.1 update?

My apologies if this has been discussed; search says "qnc" is too short a search term.

My q9m is modified to force the use of qnc data only, not 1x or EVDO. (The procedure and reason for it are here...scroll to near the end of the page or search for qnc in the page.)

Basically I (a) used qpst to change a Qualcomm setting, (b) accessed the secret menu with ##073887* and changed the data rate, and (c) modified the file \windows\connectcdma.cpl.xml to make dialup settings accessible. (More details at the above link.)

My question is, will updating to 6.1 disable my ability to force qnc?

My guess is that (a) and (b) will be fine and won't even have to be repeated after the update, but I don't have a clue about (c).

    Many thanks for your help.

OK, I have an alternative (related) question...I would greatly appreciate a favor from anyone who has updated a q9m to wm 6.1.

On the q9m there should be a file \windows\connectcdma.cpl.xml . It is a hidden system file, so you'll have to set Explorer options before you can see the file.

I would be very grateful if someone could open that file in any pc text editor, and then copy/paste the contents into a reply post or into a PM to me.

I already have the file for wm6.0 of course, so I'm only interested in 6.1

    Thank you!

Yes, I was able to update to 6.1. and then reapply the force-qnc patch without difficulty.

Your post told me that this file was unchanged betwen 6.0 and 6.1, which suggested that patching it would work the same way, giving me the courage to do it.

Of course my assumption might have been wrong, but as it happens, it was right. Thanks again!
