Will Embarq Motorola work on Sprint or any other network?

Will an Embarq Motorola work on Sprint or any other network? I recently purchased a Motorola Q off ebay and was trying to figure out the provider associated with the phone. I had Sprint look up the ESN and they said it wasn't one of their phones. It's a factory refurb I got cheap off of ebay. There is a bunch of Embarq literature in the box from the factory. From that observation I'm assuming it was manufactured to be used on the Embarq network. Will this phone work with ANY current service provider? Thanks in advance.

it depends on whether you can get the ESN entered in the carrier's system. Your options would be Sprint (you've tried that already) Verizon (they are usually more picky than sprint is), and maybe Cricket (they will flash your phone and activate it for a fee), US Cellular, and I'm sure there's a few other CDMA carriers out there
