I have no problem either with sending from Optonline. I guess I would check your settings within Optonline to make sure you are active for POP mail. Other than that you need to use both the Optonline in and outgoing servers.

Your outgoing server needs to me smtp.sprintpcs.com. Try this below. Sometimes the sprint username and password do not work but give this a shot.

    This is what you do.

    1. Incomming server is your ISP's server
    2. Outgoing server is smtp.sprintpcs.com
    3. Check off the box "outgoing server requires authentication"
    3. Then go to outgoing server settings
    4. Check off "Use different user name for outgoing server"
    5. Input sprint powervision user name. This is NOT your sprint web login.
You can get this by logging into your account at sprint.com. Goto
Account Management. then My personal Information. Then click on
    modify next to powervision username.
    6. Enter powervision password. You can get this in the same place online
below the username. The default is usual "sprint".
    7. thats it

You need to set the outgoing mail server to:
    mail.optonline.net:587

Optonline block incoming smtp to the default port when you aren't on their network.

You also need to turn on smtp authentication and use your username (without the @optonline.net) and password to authenticate.

I don't use the default messaging, so I don't recall exactly where those options are.

    Ok Well Now I Get

The Following Errors Occured While Sending And Receiving Mail:

Unable To Connect To The Incoming Mail Server
Verify That The Server Name Is Corect And Then Try Again

But Still Same Thing I Can Get The Mail Can Not Send Any Mail This Is Getting Really Frustrating If Someone With Optonline Can Give Me Step By Step What Works For Them It Would Help.

I had the EXACT same issues as you. Also every time I did a hard reset I lost my settings and had to go thru the same process. You get your mail but you are unable to send mail thru Mail.optonline.net. Every time I saolved the problem I had to switch the outgoing server to smtp.sprintpcs.com. The hardest porblem has always been determing what username and passwrod to use for authentication with sprint. I have called support numerous times and was only able to get the correct answer once. So each time I play with the username and password and I get it to work. I wish I could help more but this is how I have gotten it done numerous times. Try your sprintpcs mail username and password. You can get this online under mail settings I think.
