    Who the heck IS HTC anyway?!?

    Never even heard of this company two-three years ago. Now they are acting like a major player?!? Who are these people?!? Someone just change their name or something?!?!

    They are an Asian company but is huge in Europe.

    Remember the PPC-6700? It was marketed first as audiovox, then as UT-starcom, and then HTC

    these guys made the original pocket pc iPAQ for compaq.

    they made the smart move to stop letting large companies (and even verizon only a couple years ago) rebrand their stuff and emerge in the smartphone market.

    But HTC apparently don't really make the Ozone.
    Lost my Ozone. We have that 3rd party warranty thing. My "phone person" at the office called me and said "They don't have an HTC Ozone listed.. when I put in your number it comes up AUDIOVOX XC6175".
    That's pretty confusing.
    So Audiovox builds them and HTC just resells them? Why doesn't Audiovox just sell them direct? You would think they would want their name right on the phone. No one even knows who Audiovox is anymore.

    They deserve to be too.. Time for them to take a slice of the pie and improve their lifestyles.

    HTC has actually been manufacturing devices for a while, but they didn't always use their own name. In fact, in the past, many companies, like Palm, actually designed phones that were manufactured by HTC.
