    Which Q came first?

I was looking into getting a Q, my provider (rogers) only provides the Q9h, I am thinking of getting it but I had one question, in what order were the Q's released? I ask because if the Q9h is a "older" model I might have to look to other alternatives.

What are your general experince's with the Q9h? Would you recommend it over lets say the Blackjack 2? I also noticed the Q9h does not come with Internet Explorer, how would one get IE on their phone?

Also, is there a Twinkle type app for Windows Mobile?

well if you're gonna go that way, the third generation Q isn't out yet. we don't even know for sure what it's gonna look like. (the napoleon in my mind still qualifies as 2 gen)

possibly yea could be second gen kind of like the black Q was of the first gen...
eeeeh i might see it as v3.0...new look/shipped with updated operating system/world capable/finger scanner...etc....although these are all yet to be seen) so maybe v2.5:tounge:

i'll go for 2.5. it's really not different enough to be 3, but if you look at it that way sprint's Q9c might also qualify as 2.5 now...
  10. I would say the grey/ black q's were first generation because of wm 5.0
the 9 series went from 9m to 9c to 9h, all basically the same running wm 6.0 and 6.1 on sprint.
I would say there have been 2 generations.
3rd will be out in the fall.

    soooo

    Q w/WM5 = v1.0
    Q w/WM6 = v2.0
    Q w/WM6.1 = v2.5

  12. aah but the verizon version doesn't have 6.1...so it could be considered a service pack :).

The Q9H is currently - and this could change within a couple of months - the flagship Q model.
It is the most capable Q you can get at this time.

    Lets see..
the 9H is a global phone
    Installed RAM - 96 MB
    Installed ROM - 256 MB
    Processor - 325 MHz
    Opera Mobile standard.
    2.0 megapixel camera

9C/9M - are not global phones and while I see different specs on different sites the following are what I have seen consistently.
    Installed RAM - 64 MB
    Installed ROM - 128 MB
    1.3 megapixel camera.

Now I am not saying the 9H is superior by leaps and bounds, but it does have better specs.

So do you think I should wait till the new line up launches in the fall or just buy the Q9h?

Thanks for the info, I guess I might hold it off for a few more weeks to see if the specs for the new line up are released... or leaked.

A bit of topic here but the Blackjack 2 has a duo core processor clocked at 266 MHZ I think, does that mean each core is 266 or both combined are 266?

The current Q line is almost a year old. If you do not need a phone right now, I would hold off as long as I could.
Also, look into other phones as well..don't limit your options.
