    What's new in 6.1

For use that got 6.1 to work, beside the home screen, threaded text and the start menu, what is the big differences in 6.1 that you like?

apparently voicemail isn't speed dial 1 anymore (will take some time to get used to it, but I'm sure some will like it)
I like that the task manager shows cpu use per app running.

BT audio quality registry changes already exist (pretty big, especially if you don't know about them).

No longer need to edit the registry to change the PIE home page.

    PocketIE zooms.

its alright..im not really a fan of the threaded text, b/c texting never seemed like an AIM thing for me..but time getting used to..
The new layout of the home screen is cool but I like being able to have a quick launch setup so i just use sprints layout.
zooming and copying and pasting on IE is def a plus

1 is still voicemail for me.

In addition to the threaded texting and the new homescreen, as I mentioned in the other thread, it seems to be recognizing area codes and giving the location now, another feature that was sorely missed from my old Treo.

I saw some people say that Live Search is in the Flash now, but not for me.

Windows Mobile 6.1 + Smart Toolbox = AMAZING!!!

I love the media homepage. It's awesome and works extremely well. AND Smart Toolbox works great WITH WM6.1, too! So you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

So far, no problems with any of the programs, although i'm having a few problems with Windows Media Player and some of my MP3's.

    Best features so far:
    1. Copy-and-paste: FINALLY!
    2. GORGEOUS homescreen: This makes the phone function much more fluidly! I love it!
    3. threaded txt messaging: Glad i didn't have to pay money for this feature. very convenient.

For starters, I had ZERO problems with the install. The best thing for me so far has been PIE. WIth the added zoom box it has become my favorite browser. I don't even think I'm going to bother with OM or Teashark.

I also really like the look of the homescreens that it came with, but I can't stand having to scroll through everything so I also just use the sprint layout.

The threaded messaging works great. No more SMSMESSAGESENT hack needed.

I was trying to figure out if they changed it to EVDO Rev A but I can't remember where to check. Anyone have a heads up on that?

It actually seems to run a bit faster in general use for me, the sluggishness has been improved upon and I certainly enjoy that.

    I just got done reinstalling:
    inbox tunes
    sms bubbles
    sk tools
    fa├žade
    photo contact pro
    push email
    everything works fine.
I did a registry clean for invalid registries. 3 came up bad. wondering if I should delete them. I had none before updating.

tht would be sweet if you could get the pie.exe file outof 6.1 and copy it to the Q 1 and have it work
  17. If you have facade, extreme txt, etc., other than the zoom feature of pocket ie, is it a worthy upgrade? I don't qualify for it, I am just posing the question.
Also by smarttoolbox are you refering to smartoolkit?

it's not all that much different. the zoom just pulls back from the mobile page, makes for faster scrolling I guess facade can still be useful on 6.1. the sliding panel reminds me of a cross between ekoflip and the wm7 screens. and if you already have extreme text, there's not as much point. other than fixing the call hang up issue that has been mentioned before
