what to do with moto after it's mine?

I am contemplating divorcing from AT&T but not from the Moto Q 9h and wonder if the means of unlocking are in this forum without too much digging?

After I get it unlocked, how can I:
Use it with more than one carrier, e.g. one in U.S. and Vodafon in Spain?
    Connect to Wi-fi hotspots?
Use the built-in GPS without the accompanying subscription plan?

I have been delighted with the hardware but the bait/switch tactics are unbearable.

    Love.

The easiest way to sim unlock your phone is to ask AT&T for the unlock code. What I did is since I was going on vacation to Mexico I called and told them I was buying a prepaid sim out there and needed to unlock my phone to use it.

As far as the built-in GPS, you just start your navi program and it should work. I have Garmin on my extra q9h and the navi works great on it :)
