    Voice Mail For Landlines

    I am use Youmail for my voicemail on the Q and I am looking for something similar for a land line phone. Something that is free so I can check the voicemail by both the landline and also the mobile when need be and also to be able to check them online. Also to be able to email the voicemail would be nice as well. Anyone know of something that would fit? Thanks.

    don't know of any... is Youmail comparable with Callwave ? i would like to use a greeting that does not -as Callwave- tells the caller which service i use. plus from what i quickly saw re. Youmail it sends an email, the other cool feature of Callwave is it sends you an text message & an email.

    I am not sure of the functions of callwave but youmail is very nice. You get a text or email or both letting you know you have a vm. I sit at a computer most of the day so it is nice when I get a vm I can just listen to it on the computer instead of wasting minutes. You can email the voicemail to others. It basically has unlimited storage so there is really no need to delete a vm if you do not want to. You can set up separate greetings for each individual on your contact list. There are thousands of greetings available on ym or you can create you own. I have been using it for about six months or so and I really like it. Oh yeah and it is FREE.

    aha... thanks, my main reason for using Callwave is that i get a text with the transcript of the voicemail (which often is quite hilarious 'cuz it can really mess up a voicemail) i can deal without the transcript as long as i get the text message/email...

    *seriously considers switching*

    IC what you are talking about now. No ym does not send you a text version of the voicemail.

    Yeah it is just a notification that you have one. It does not convert it to a text.

    1 more question, Callwave does not update a home screen counter, and i am guessing the same goes for Youmail ?

    due to laziness ? :}

    I am not sure I know what you are talking about. On the front page it keeps track of every phone call that is made into your number for like the last 6 or 12 months. Is that what you mean?

    Gotcha. No that is the only draw back that I have. The only way that you know you have a vm is if you get a text or email. My wife really wants to use ym but she does not have a texting plan and does not have data on her phone so she can not use it unless she check for a vm after every missed call.
