first off windows media sucks, find out how to install tcpmp, youll have to get the audio codecs for it, i have a post somewhere describing it, i think its the moto q hacks sticky post

anyways, i found avi sucks big butts but will play alright on the tcpmp, it plays pretty much any file, but i found that mp4 works the best... Ipod video loves mp4 so i like to use the program videora

What kind of file are you trying to play (*.avi, *.mov, etc.)? Also, what happens when you try and open the file in core? Any message there? I can build you a detailed walkthrough for a small fee

    Sorry for the questions

Ok, first off, start with the basics.

    1) Did you install Core Player (TCPMP) on your Q yet? If not, using your Q's internet explorer, open this message thread and Click on the file tcpmp.smartphone.0.72RC1.cab (but make sure you are doing this with your Q, not your computer)

    2) This file is going to ask you to install it on your Q. My recommendation is that you install it onto your SD card (so you can easily back it up to your computer)

    3) Once you have installed TCPMP, you will get an icon in your programs menu that says CORE. Open the Start menu to find it.

    4) When you open Core player, you will then have to open the movie file you want to view.

This should be all you need to do. These are the steps I took to get it working for myself.

All those are great! I'd like to add Pocket tv. It is a free program that plays Mpegs. It is awesome! You can download a free dvd ripper and transfer dvd movies to Mpeg and it plays them beautifully on the Q (Full Screen) try it out. You won't be dissapointed.

All of the steps I have outlined are to be done on your Q. This is where you want the movies to play, right? So after you finish all of those steps, you will want to start thinking about adding the movie file to your SD card (From your computer, transferred to your Q)

All you need to do is keep it simple and you will get it working.

**As for your movie Monster House, you need to get a program that can RIP dvd's. If you search the threads, you can probably find more information about DVD ripping there)

Make sure you are attempting to download the right version. "SP"-WM5 not "PPC"-WM-5. Let me know if you get it downloaded. If not pm me your email address and I'll send you the cab when I get home tonight.
