    Vibration duration for SMS

    Hey folks,

I've searched but came up empty. I've been able to change the vibration duration for normal calls using the guide on the forum, but can anyone tell me where the registry key is to change the length of time the phone vibrates when a text message is received?

    Thanks.

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\SMS create a new string value called Script and in the value data put v#. The # is the number of seconds you want itto vibrate for.

    registry vs xml

I know that the last time I set up my phone (I just did a hard reset) I used a hack from over at Qusers.com that worked perfectly for getting a one second vibration and a sound when I got a text message. Instead of hacking the registry, it hacked the xml file (Application Data/Profiles/(profile name).xml) but now I can't seem to figure out what it was. Essentially, that .xml file tells the registry what value to use for each characteristic of a profile. For instance, however it tells the registry which kind of ring it's talking about, it'll have a string of text that tells the registry what to do. For instance, in my Normal profile, the xml tells the registry av3pw3r. That means to activate the device, vibrate for three seconds while playing the ringtone, wait three seconds and repeat. Now, You would think you could just go into the xml and change that one little string to say av1pw3r and then it'd do all the same things except it'd only vibrate for one second instead of three. However, what happens when I do this is that I can't set the phone to Normal anymore. Which is a problem. So, does anyone know more about xml on the Q than I do?
