Who cares? Having to choose an expensive data plan means I won't be renewing my contract with one of there BOGO phones. Even looking for a new carrier.

just because you dont care doesnt mean someone else wont
sorry you are frustrated with verizon

pretty sure all carriers now require a data plan if you get some sort of smartphone, so its not just verizon
    good luck though

You're right. I am just frustrated because they no longer have the pay-as-you-use data plan and I liked to use the Q on occasion and I didn't use much data.

you cant go anywhere and not pay for a data plan on a smartphone. although i would love to know the cost of operations because these data plans, on all carriers, seem pricey
