    unlock device

Is there a setting to keep the device unlocked so I don't have to enter the password to unlock the device each time I want to use my Q?
I don't feel I need that tight of security and it is annoying to have to enter my password 50 times in a day.
    Thanks,
    Carl

Start -> Settings -> G More -> A Security -> A Device Lock -> UNcheck "Prompt if device unused for" (or change the timeout)

    this worked

Thank you for the info!!!What was throwing me off is that on my phone after I did the ->A Device Lock, a window appeared asking for my password to change my password. Not knowing exactly what that meant, I went no further. I was instructed to enter the password and when I did, the page with the "Prompt if device unused for....." came up and the box unchecked.
    Thanks again for your response.

    Carl

I set mine for 24 hours so the phone is fairly protected if I loose it but not annoying me constantly.

For me this ceck box is greyed out, and cannot be unset :016:upset

Is there anything I can do, short of a clean boot? Just rebooting the phone doesn't help.

    Thanx!

there are reg hacks to get around it but your employer is likely enforcing a security policy on their phone via exchange.

Thanks, guys! It looks like you were right, I downloaded register editor, found and changed the entry mentioned in a thread about "forced security", and the checkbox stopped being grey.

I only need to make sure it does not return back after future email syncs with exchange server; the phone is mine, but I indeed assigned it to access company email.

    M-m, I only have 0, 1, 5 and 15 minutes options there...
I'll wait and see, whether it locks again, and if it is, maybe I'll need to replace the slide locker.

it depends on the password requirements. The DoD changed mine a while back, so that it redoes the registry settings every half hour or so and they changed the lock time so that the max would be 30 min.

you may want to check this out, it's helped me a lot.

the links for PPC and Smartphone versions are towards the bottom

Right, for me it also returned, and Stay Unlocked mentioned above seems the way to resolve this.
