So, does anyone else have the trouble that when you update a trial app, the update does go away (the system keeps telling you to update)?

It usually drives me to make it not an update (either purchase or delete), but still, it is annoying.

Same problem here. I have two apps that require updates. It starts the update, but then never completes. I have been unable to update them.

When I come across an app like that I usually uninstall app then install newest version. I think it's an issue with certain apps as some of them actually tell you (under discription) to uninstall first before updating.

The offending apps were GooNews and Birdsong. I'm going to delete Birdsong and update to the new version. With some speed improvements, I think it could be my go to Twitter client. There's been some buzz around Mo Tweets, but I think I like Birdsong better.

It used to happen to a Google reader I used (free version). I forget which one now. I moved on to Wonder Reader.

I *liked* your post. Not because I like the issue, but at least an explanation. I saw some people mentioning on Twitter that a "marketplace" problem would be fixed. I guess this would be it. Thanks!

hehe thanks. Yep this is a known issue, and Microsoft acknowledges it.

The official response from them is this:
"This is a known issue that we are investigating and will provide an update when we have more details."

"We have escalated this issue as far as it can go and a fix will be implemented in the very near future. I don't have any further info. We will keep you posted."

I'd like to add that this usually happens when trying to update trial apps.

I deleted the apps and reinstalled. No big deal. Small hassle, but I'm over it.

Ah I'm glad I came in here because for some reason I didn't think of just reinstalling it to get rid of the update bug. They could've fixed this in the NoDo update...
