    Tools for Home Screen

I'm working on changing my home screen and would like to know what tools are used to modify the home screen.

Also, are there any sites that describe the XML elements and plugins that are available on the Q?

    Thanks,

    Adam

A good plain text editor (Notepad works great).

As of right now, I don't believe there is any software available to create home screens for the Q but give it a while and that will probably change. I have downloaded and tried several of the programs out there but they do not work on the Q.

As far as information on modifying your home screen, you can probably find what you are looking for on Microsofts page, it's actuatlly written for Smartphone 2002 but I have been using the information from here and it seems to work fine on the Q.
Click here to visit Customizing the Microsoft Smartphone

Awesome. Thanks. Another good tool is Microsoft XML Notepad... you can probably find a copy using Google... it was a free tool that Microsoft released a few years ago.

    Homescreen Tool

I found this free download at http://www.madbeetle.com/ for a homescreen creater that works for the Q. You need to change the settings to be 320 x 240 to see it at the right size but it works great.

You have to buy the anim plugin for $4.95 if you want to do animitated homescreens. I didn't create any but I downloaded some from madbeetle and they worked.

Here is the homescreen I created. Let me know if they work on your Q because I'm curious to see if you have to have the creater downloaded for the homescreen to work. I don't think so because you install the creater on your desktop and then you install the cab file on your Q.

    Hope this helps.

@ aslandholm: if you are asking if people can use home screens without having the app that made them, the answer is yes.

    not really worth it
seem more complicated than its worth!

difficult to create items and edit them
very organized but so hard to get a flow going....

i agree... it does look like the other one which as you found out does not add to the functionality we could perhaps use.
