Hi all hope everyone is having a enjoyable 2011 thus far.

Is there anyword on when the first update will take place?

I'm really excited to finally have the ability to add multi media on my text. Then I can fully endorse this phone to friends and family.:)

Hoping we'll hear more this week. I'll be at CES, hoping for good news on the Windows Phone front.

    http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2011/01/05/windows-phone-7-update-rumors-again/
    and
    http://thenextweb.com/microsoft/201...is-almost-here-the-second-is-looking-massive/
    from

So, I guess the copy/paste & some bug fixes update is pretty much
ready and being submitted to AT&T for them to certify it. So it
should get to our phones by early February.

Also, the huge "Mango" update for the Fall that's been rumored isn't
the whole update. "Mango" is just a part of the update in the Fall.
So I guess the Fall update is going to be pretty big.

The guy that is saying this said that MS is likely trying to go with
some sort of regular update schedule. So they already had copy/paste
ready to go a while ago. But they are trying to keep on a certain
schedule. So, up until the scheduled update release, they just keep
accumulating the stuff they fixed and added. And whatever is done and
tested before the next update schedule goes in. Whatever is not ready
yet, gets pushed to the next update 3 or 4 months away. I guess this
is because carriers have to certify the updates. And if there was a
new update released every few days, carriers would go crazy.

I know people are hoping for a whole lot more, but custom ring tones would make me happy for this next update :(

I hope some new features are included in the next update, but first they need to fix some little bugs. MarketPlace App crashes in 80% of uses on my HD7.
I don´t miss Copy&Paste, but if it is included i will use it ;)

Do Windows Phones update OTA or via syncing to a computer? If the latter, does the beta software for Macs allow OS updates?

I concur, MarketPlace (on HD7) is virtually unusable for browsing apps, it's a shame.

That's odd, I've had no issues browsing the MarketPlace on my HD7. Now having my wireless re-connect after the phone wakes from sleep is another story, have to disable then re-enable wireless.

Well, the first news on the update comes officially from Steve Balmer at the CES keynote. The update will be available in the next few months.

I went through the trouble of getting a badge this year but am unable to attend, I'm anxious to hear what happens out there.

As you've probably seen, not much. Windows Phone was real quiet this year. I guess it's understandable since they all launched in October, but I was hoping for more fanfare about the update. This year's CES was all about Android.

I've had my HD7 for about it a week and searching through marketplace has not been an issue for me. I've crazy searched the apps m-place and works well.

I expect juicier news to be reserved for the Mobile World Congress.

With the launch being so recent, there probably isn't all that much cool news for MS to announce. So if they announced it at CES that would leave them nothing to talk about at MWC.

It is from February 14-17 in Barcelona, Spain.

Last year's MWC is where MS first announced that they were working on "Windows Phone 7 Series".

Has anyone noticed how many top level MS people have or are leaving. Today's announcement was for the head of the network group. Is this to get an influx of new blood or getting rid of dead weight?
