    Help

As a x-mass present to myself; I bought a the 9M. I love the phone so far and want to start customizing it. I was all ready to start making some custom ring tones, and remebered this link. It now seems that the how to
video is no longer accessible. I remeber watching the video and it was great
for a total nube like myslef.

If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance :laugh2:

just copy the sound file to either
    a. the directory \application data\sounds
    b. the root directory of your SD card (if you have one)

open up WMP and update the library and then go to start..settings..sounds and add the sound you want
if you want it for a contact edit the contact and scroll to where it says custom ringtone

Thanks n99hockey. That is very helpful. I forgot to ask when using a song; I know you use audacity to select the segment of the song you want and paste it into another audacity window. Then you save that section of the clip. The other question that I have is what do I save that song sound byte as.

Thanks danlewisnet that link is very helpful. I have to say that in all the fourms I deal with for other things; this is the most helpful community around. Everyone posts something pertinante, and very helpful to a nub like me. I am learing a lot of the true capiblities of my phone just by reading the
    links.

    Thanks for all the help....

P.S Happy New Year everyone.... :2cool:

I did try to reply but it said your inbox was full. Unfourtnatelly I no longer have the video. After getting a new computer I forgot to back up that video. Sorry about the youtube name, I also unfourtnately had to delete it because it was getting spammed. I will try to make a new video maybe tomorrow or sometime this week when I have some spare time. Again I appoligize about deleting it. Let me know if you have specifc questions.

Also to quickly summarize how to do it here are some simple instructions:
    Download Audacity
Open a song in it and delete everything you dont want in the ringtone
Export the new (about 40 second) song as a .WAV file.
    Sync your Q
Drag your song to the Storage Card folder or to Application Data>Sounds.
Then it should show up in your ringtone list.

in the meantime (even though i don't get why you just cut 'n paste and whatnot in Audacity), anyway somebody just linked this site that allows you to make ring tones.
