thank you, and I need more help!!

thank you very much it worked for the DOH!. Now if you can help again. I am trying to get ringtones from a radio station. They are sent to your phone as MMS. Is there a way to convert them to wavs, and then to ringtones, via the phone?? thanks again , this is a great web site.

to save from mms you need to open the message and then hit the right soft key and click object view..this will allow you to save the file

    i believe it defaults to \aaplication data\sounds

me too.....what ever happened to just explaining it verbally while you are doing it? that would work excellent and not take 8 minutes.

also, you can put wavs anywhere on the phone and still use them as ringtones. i have mine on the storage card.

Great tutorial for newbies or those who have trouble reading a written description.

Instead of audacity, RingtoneRipper would be a better tool if all you're doing is making 10-30 second long ringtones out of mp3s. Its pretty much all automated into maybe 3 steps.

    Or.......

You can go to www.phonezoo.com and download/create ones there. Its a really cool site, and has millions of tones/sounds on it. Plus youll never have to plug your Q into a computer!!!!

    hey?

I figured out how to edit my own music and get em in the phone as ringtones..but when i receive a text for example the ringtone keeps playing and playing even after ive replyed to the text ect...how can you stop the ring tone fomr ringing repeatedly??its kinda of annoying...usually once you touch a button the phone the tone would stop as you reply...not in this case??anyone else had this problem??lemme know?

p.s. i chopped the ringtones really short...their mabye 15 sec long each if that...not sure whut to do?

    Ring Tone Tutorial

Or you could just read this ring tone tutorial and not mess with trying to keep up with a video at all.

Why not a simple txt document? I can't download the video to watch it...

Edit: you just put the mp3 in application data/sounds?

    Ring Tones

Was something wrong with the tutorial that I linked to?

Yes, that's the standard location (although some other places work, too).

Im not sure if everybody figured this out or if I already showed this but if you'd rather save the ringtone to your storage card just drag the song into the storage card folder (no sub folders) and it will automatically show up on the ringtone list.

I am really missing something here. I follow all of the directions (which are great), but then I try to play anything in Audacity all I get is a quick blurp like a screaching sound.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you.
