we should take up a donation to buy one for the group to share. but if you brick it on your watch you have to replace it.

haha....apparently this is more about making some money on the side...NOT really about checking out the new Storm.

anyway, sence VZW seem to be the nicest with phone trials ( that ive delt w/ ),
ill prob get one for the 2 week trial that they allow & then return it.... let all that sink in & then decide.
the ol lady has a BB Curve & i really dont like the OS. ive heard that the storm is a bit diff so i guess im goin to have to go play w/ one to be sure...

I picked up the Storm today. Just finished the ritual unboxing and got a chance to play with it a bit. It didn't have much juice, so I'm letting it charge.

The entire screen is like a MacBook Pro trackpad. If you've ever clicked that, then you know exactly how it feels. It's odd because you click on everything you need to press. It's a very new experience, somewhere between a QWERTY and a touchscreen (probably where RIM wants it). Accuracy is ok using landscape, but I'm terrible at RIM's SureType. Browser is very nice in my initial testing. Load times not so bad.

Because the screen is clickable, there is "leakage", so you can see light at the corners. Makes me wonder if dirt, grime and finger gook will find it's way into users screens?

Accelerometer is also a bit slow moving from portrait to landscape.

I've been using a number of phones that last few weeks, so I need to unlearn those and give this some time.

If you are serioulsy considering a BlackBerry, then I would encourage you to join up over at EverythingBerry. Those who are simply curious (and that's natural), I'd be happy to answer any questions here at EQ.

I'm a member there already (as is Cheri). I joined for my husband, who still knows nothing about the phone! (It makes calls and gets his e-mail-thanks to everythingberry...)

Honey, you lost a house and survived! I think we can manage watching you get a new toy! Just don't go too far. Us old folks worry!
