    texts slowing down phone

Hi guys, long time lurker first time poster.

My Sprint Q9c (on a SERO plan if that matters) slows to a crawl (as in just about freezes) when I open a text message. I keep very few texts so that's not the problem. If I go into task manager and stop messaging (a process which takes 3-5 minutes because of the slowdown) then everything goes back to normal.

I did a master reset once and it was fixed, but the problem came back in a month.

    Thanks for any help.

you may want to try SK tools lite ( I can send a link when I get home from work tonight), also try clearing out the browser's temporary internet files

Turn off predictive text....Clear dictionary history memory.....leave it off. This should fix it.

I've already turned off predictive text and run SKTools lite, which didn't help.

    I use Opera mini....how do I clear it's history?

How do I clear dictionary history and leave it off?

Thanks a lot guys in advance!

i'm not sure what dictionary history is either, but i can only assume manbat meant predictive text.

do you have a storage card installed?

as far as opera mini's history, you'd clear that in opera's history, but that little bit isn't going to effect anything. when paco said browser's history i'm pretty sure he was referring to pie's temp internet files.

By dictionary history I mean....Input History. Go to Settings/Text Input Settings/Menu/Clear Input History. In Text Input Settings do not check "any of the boxes". I have never had any slowing problems.

ok, I've done all that...let's hope it works. I do have a card and have my ie temp and cache files on the card instead on the phone.

I'll let you all know how it worked
