    Skyfire has it beat in certain areas at the moment, but Teashark does have the advantage in one pretty significant area - you can actually use it to post here at EQ (though this is supposed to be fixed in a later version of Skyfire).

    the reasoning behind mobile browsing was to visit predominantly mobile web sites <DoH>.. i don't think it was intended to be able to view Flash & other "fluff" sites that adds little to nothing to the content.. (which i can easily do without.. ditto for video sites.)

    call me old skool... go ahead :}

    Playing around with it a little more, I've found that if you go to Menu (left softkey)-->Tools-->Preferences and click on "Use phone's editor" then when you use the "Go To" option to bring up the address bar, if you click it, it will automatically bring you to Jbed's text editor (instead of navigating to whatever page has been typed in) - quicker than the method described in my earlier post.

    Tabbed Browsing

    It wasn't immediately clear to me how to do it, so I thought I'd post this.

    Say you have a page open, and you want to open another page in a second tab. You would click on Menu (left softkey), then Go To (which should bring you to the text editor box if you set up preferences as mentioned in my last post), and type in the URL. After hitting OK, it'll bring you back to the main screen. Hit menu again and select "Open in 2nd Tab", and it will load the page in the 2nd tab. To switch between tabs, hit the 7 button on your Q to bring up the browsing history, and then you can use up on the d-pad to switch to the 2nd tab (actually, you'll be in the 2nd tab's browsing history view, so you can actually select any page within the current browsing history of the 2nd tab). Do the same thing to get back to the 1st tab. It appears that you're limited to 2 tabs.

    most cases I prefer a mobile version on Q, loads faster and easy to see on screen. However some company's feel they need to fill the web site with an overabundance of "fluff".

    Yeah, it seems a little slower today. It's got some very nice features, but until it browses a little faster, I won't be giving up Opera Mini just yet.

    took quite q while for it to find a page. It would revert to mobile version of EQ after a few pages.

    its a good start, too slow for everday use now.

    You need a java emulator like Jbed for it to install and work. I have the .cab file for Jbed on my apps page if you need it.

    is the opera mini 4.1 beta much better right now then the new upgrade of teashark beta? b/c I PIE worked on youtube with the hack but I try to go to play youtube video on opera mini 4.1 beta and it did not let me. I don't know why? but maybe the upgrade (teashark beta) can?

    after a lot of looking, I am gunna pass on the teashark and stick with my opera mobile. but that is not a FREE alternative, so maybe opera mini and teashark aren't back choices for some

    I like teashark, it does have the zoom feature like (cough) skyfire.
    I actually havent used my opera mobile in a while infact I havent reinstalled it since the 2 master resets over the last few days and seem to be living fine with out it.
