Stand-alone AIM IM App according the wmexperts.com AOL has launched a standalone AIM app http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/aol_releases_new_aim_client_fo.html i am in the process of installing and checking it out.... here is a link to the AOL Site http://beta.aol.com/projects.php?project=aimwinmobile and a link to the direct cab file http://beta.aol.com/projects/aimwinmobile/installers/mobileaim.cab enjoy
yes this is true i think its a nice free alternative to some of the other ones out there and it is still in beta
I posted this a few hours ago. The only problem I've had was while entering username/password it doesn't let you backspace to delete things. When I press it the program exits. Otherwise I like it. Someone said that it doesn't do file transfer but I have never needed that while mobile and rarely use it on the computer so I'm happy with it - just hope the final is faster.
yea i just saw you posted it in another thread...didnt see a new thread for it and yes i found that out the hard way a few times...hahaha kept exiting after i realized it started in Alt not abc mode i never used file transfer either from the Q with any aim apps...so it works fine for me as well
When i try to enter my screen name in it keeps entering the numbers from the keypad, not the letters....it won't let me change it either! Also if i have a typo in the name and i try to delete with backspace it just shuts down the app!!
Yeah I had to do that a few times until I saw it change in the upper right corner. I submitted this issue to them http://beta.aol.com/feedback/test.php?src=aimwinmobile&tab=problem_report
i just noticed that the fn key only works when i'm not pressing the keys with the numbers! While using the aim app!
not impressed. just logging in was a problem for me (everything that was written above). keep up the good work though, AOL.
