Sprint raises insurance replacement decuctibles from $50 to $100

Discussion in 'Sprint' started by magicman08, Feb 6, 2009.

  1. good to know. I didn't get one, but there are two ways to look at it.
you pay 7.00 a month for 2 yrs of coverage, plus 100.00 deductable and you can get a new phone.
on the other hand, you drop it the first month, its a lifesaver. I think I will go back to my old ways of having the insurance the first year and then drop the coverage. I will get a two yr discount, but not 100.00 credit.

i'm sure you know, but just in case anyone else doesn't, you'd get a refurb instead of a new phone, unless i'm missing your analogy on the above statement.

also someone needs to change the thread title and omit sprint and replace it with asurion.
  3. you get a new phone if they don't have refurbs in stock.
  4. just an update, the battery they sent me is 1130mAh
my old one I still have is 1170mAh

    Somebody explain:

I'm under the impression that Assurion charge is only for lost or water damaged phones.

Got my change in terms last week. The $100 deductible applies only to certain more expensive phones, such as the MotoQ9c. Gr:2cool:eg

correct. If it is a defect of some sort then the swap is free. Haven't lost/drowned a expensive phone so not sure about the $100 claim. They do charge $50 for the low end phones.

Got the Q9 replaced in store after the 1st for nothing as well.
That goes along with the "abuse only" theory.

Actually the deductible on the Q9C was changed to $100. At least that is what the notice I got from Assurion said, a few months ago. Greg

generally when they replace the phone in-store, they do a warranty replacement, not insurance. so there would be no deductable
