well i got it...guess im speckle too
i got the same perp and ask who the boyfriend was...i dont click mysterious links especially from perps i dont know
I know all of you aren't new to the internet...so why are you clicking on links when you don't know where they go???
Something about curiosity and a dead cat.
Because we don't always know where a DOOR is going to lead us and we still open them... This is like a "VIRTUAL DOOR", don't know where it is going to lead us, but we have to open it...
Ok, I am just kidding, I just came up with that, pretty good huh... I actually agree, I don't go to unknown links usually...
BTW, I got this too...
I didn't blindly click on it. I first did a WHOIS on the domain, then went to the site's home page on my Q (if I get some malware, I can just Master Reset and restore my backup), then checked the Books subdomain, then checked the chapter mentioned.
After that, as I mentioned, I used an HTTP GET on my PC to see the page headers and HTML without actually loading the page.
But clicking links blindly, especially from people you don't know, is a bad idea. For those that don't know, there's apparently a huge problem for people using Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP (not Vista, though) where clicking a malformed mailto link (with a % sign somewhere) can end up launching arbitrary programs (and thereby end up taking over your computer). There's no Microsoft fix for the problem yet, although Firefox and Adobe (and maybe others) have patched their software to avoid the problem, so click carefully.
Wowwee...seems like we are all randomly special!! I always wanted to be counted in to something, but this is somewhat of a letdown...no thanks to JennyW.
Oh, BTW, I had said hello the other nite to someone (signing on the first time) from Canada and thot this might have been an answer...not!!
Liked the stories about doors and dead cats tho...
Yeah I just got that too, Steve you can ignore my PM.
You said it took you to a sex site, then said your work server blocked it?? It doesnt go to a sex site. It really does look like a book. I even clicked through the pages and there isnt anything bad in there.
SPAM on the forum??
Hey all -
Been awhile since i've posted or anything
I just noticed that I got a PM from jennyw, and it appears to be a spam, luckily the person was banned from the forum, but still, is this what is going to happen now with forums? I just think its ridiculous that people will try to advertise or distribute viruses over forums.
Just a thought, have a great weekend everyone, and be sure to check out the MSU vs Umich game tomorrow!!
there's a few threads about it already.
sorry, did a search for the name jennyw, but not for spam, my bad
DARN! And here I thought she had picked ME to make her boyfriend jealous! Oh the cruel fates!!!! :frown::frown::frown:
Awww, maaan! I, too, thought I was specially randomly picked for this event. And it does appear to be a book. I do not, for the record, randomly click on links either, so I waited till I got to work. I didn't read far enough to find out if it was a sex story; much less whether or not the whole first chapter was crap.
Just out of curiosity, I wonder who JennyW's boyfriend is?...
Yeah, I received it too. Looks like someone needs to implement captcha and floodcount on private message system
I reported it to Rudeboy yesterday.....back to being part of the pack again....
You mean you don't randomly click on links unless you're using a computer that isn't yours
just what i needed
