So my Q9c decided to ignore my request...

The "Envelope" key left of the "Space Bar" key is what I'm refferring to...When I press it this is what happens:

    ALERT
    ________________________________________________________

Error Opening the shortcut or locating the target file name.

(left softkey is "ok" as choice and that's it)

The only way to get around this error is a soft reboot..pressing "ok" softkey does nothing.

I've got Resco installed so if anyone knows of a particular registry entry that controls the button functions/shortcuts and how to find which button controls which shortcut within the registry, I would love to plaster a big THANKS banner for your help.

    peace,

    Jason

Did you move messaging from your start menu?

If you don't want to the messages icon in the start folder an make the hard button work, use the file explorer find the shortcut, choose properties and check hidden. That way the hard button will work and you won't see it in the start menu. that's what I do.

You are correct...I do want to use the hard button for the messaging folder instead of choosing it from the start menu. However....finding the short cut from the file manager or Resco Explorer is where I'm falling short....can you point me to the shortcut with a little more detail?

    Peace

using the file explorer that comes with the q, you would go to the windows folder then start menu folder, the messing shortcut should be there.
