The Q9m on Verizon has this same Power setting - but no internal wi-fi. The consensus is that there is no internal wi-fi in the Q9m. But it IS confirmed on the Q9m that the the mini-SD slot is SDIO compatible, including providing sufficient power to power a wi-fi card.

I believe the Q9c is comparable in this way to the Q9m. In that vein, I am hoping a hacker can figure out how to activate GPS on the Q9m the way the Q9c is.

Is Q9c capable of Rev.A? I have read where the Mogul and Touch will, but I haven't read of it with the Q9c (as of now). I may have just missed it thou since Q9c is so new. Anybody have more info? BOO

Yep, only thing that's missing from the Q9c that I'd like to see are Wi-Fi and Rev A. Maybe Moto will issue a Hardware Revision like that 9h thread above. That revised 9h pretty much as it all. Awesome.

Maybe when they told you that it had a wifi adapter they met that it had an adapter for the wifi card? Or maybe they were just know-it-alls who missunderstood the specs but were good at bsing with confidense.

Maybe. Hey man, alls I know is think it not strange if there was some anouncement in the coming months-- but I guess that would depend upon Sprint. Like I said, just give me some Rev A. and I'm good.

they sell mini SDIO cards, which would be the right size for the Q9c.

They may be. The Q9c uses miniSD cards, I'm not sure what Palm uses.

    Mini SDIO??

Please, so at this point, can anyone confirm if the Q9c does use the Mini SDIO wifi card. Does it support it? I am thinking of getting one, but knowing these carriers, I wont be surprised they disabled it.

I can't tell your for sure if they work, not having used one myself.

I thought about trying one, but it seemed unnecessary with my data plan, as well as inconvenient, since I have installed most of my programs on my memory card. AFAIK, the wi-fi card doesn't have any storage space, so I wouldn't be able to use several of the programs I need internet access for.

    Keeping This Alive

i just bought the sceptec wifi b card, the 'new generation' apparently.

i popped it into my q9c phone and viola! nothing.

i cant figure out how to turn this thing on for the life of me. there must be some drivers or something....

nice thing is, the minisd cards can fit under the battery cover if you sand the back down a bit. works nice, my 4gb card sits in there fine and snug
