    SmartphonePopUps *review*

Handy PopUp Notifications for WM 5/6 Smartphones!

and yet another rb© approved review, this time it's SmartphonePopUps by http://www.qorefunctions.com

this neat little application can save you time and key presses, when like me you use PushEffect (© Qorefunctions), any other push email service or when you poll for emai, it's quite a hassle to go to your email application every time to read it, especially when you are in the middle of something (and the mail is un-important, or even worse it's spam).. that problem is now solved, SmartphonePopUps shows/notifies a screen with the sender and subject/ topic of the email regardless in what application you are at that moment, from there it is up to you to read the message (Right soft key) or dismiss (Left soft key) dismiss can mark the message as "read" or leave it unread for you to read it later (this is setup in the configuration, which is a breeze by the way) - very convenient.

the above also applies to voice mail, text messages and missed calls, what is easier and quicker then being able to see before hand what came in & then base your action on that knowledge.

SmartphonePopUps supports contact name and contact photo's from your contact list for Caller ID and another great feature of SmartphonePopUps is Voicemail ID, contact name & photo of caller who left a message is displayed like visual voicemail for Windows Mobile.

i have been using it for a while know and i really dig it, when i get alerted by sound and visual (LedAlerts © Qorefunctions) all i have to do is glance at my screen and i know what's going on.. after this short time of me using it, it's already hard to believe i did without..

another big + for me (& many others i'm sure) is that it's very customizable and talented folks like Prosper contributed by making a theme pack (and hopefully more to follow) download able for free on the Qorefunctions web site.

the program can be purchased for a very reasonable special price.

(for a complete feature list visit the Qorefunctions web site.)

Any suggestions anymore? Have not started coding yet, so ideas are still welcome.

    Questions....
The templates are xml based and along the same principles of creating/editing a homescreen?

The themes are html based and therefore ... uhm ... completeley different than the MS homescreen xml stuff.
If you're using html in combination with css, it's little like homescreen xml, yes.

yea it is hard to let it go
as of right now i am not...i might eventually give the trial a go

but im a fan of the low profile of smsbubbles
  18. same here.
I am not knocking this program.
Just spend 50.00 the past two weeks on software so this will have to wait.
Plus I have my smsbubbles and et issues straightened out.

you won't regret it (i think), you can use it for all but text messages.. i was skeptical at first but really dig it a lot now.
  20. I thought it worked with txt messages?
I get more of those then I do emails because I don't push my emails.
