Has anyone tried this out yet?
SkyFire on Engadget
Looks ok... site is too slow and the beta sign up link didn't work for me.
yea the site is super slow!
im signing up for the beta now...ill let you know how it goes or how far i can get
The video on engadget certainly makes it look very interesting.
Be curious to see what others here think.
i got this...
The fact that the site is so slow worries me.
If anyone read some of the copy, it appears as if they are doing some service side tricks to make flash work.
If that's the case, they'll need some serious hardware/internet connection to scale this properly.
Seems almost like what Microsoft tried (and failed at) with Deepfish.
I don't have the patience to wait for that site to load, besides... web browsing on my phone is for quick lookups mostly. I can get here easily, that's all that really matters, right?
that is true
as long as it works and works like YOU want it to
I've signed up for the Beta too and it certainly looks quite interesting. I am quite happy with PIE at the moment so it will need to be something special for me to change over.
I want to try it out but I forgot my cable at home.
you can sign up
but you wont need your cable yet as there isnt anything to download
oh what the heck, i signed up..
(who knows, i might get it before anybody else :}
AH-HA! Thanks for the heads up.
.....wouldnt surprise me if you did:tounge:
I've got money on this statement....
I was just coming here to post about this, lol..
I think the reason the site is so slow is the links from Engadget, and I wouldn't doubt it'll be on Digg soon.. Think every PPC/Smartphone user is going to want to try it...
I signed up and can't wait to try it.. Opera is SOOOO close to being an amazing browser, but just falls short, hopefully this will fill in some gaps!!
One thing to keep in mind, READ THE SMALL PRINT!!! Long and short of it, everything is logged, links clicked, how much time you spend, where you spend it, etc.. They catalog it anonymously, but according to the small print, it can be pulled ID'd as a specific user.. Just an FYI...
