si si, muchos gracias.
I can see some uses for it. Instead of sending pics, videos, and such. One could send his image. Then if the spouse of the receiver(or cops) would only see this instead of the content. I didn't watch the show mentioned. So it may have been covered.
I would personally like to be able to do text documents and such too. Just doing text messages and websites is kinda boring after the third time you do it....
have to tried the contact one. does it dial the number?
I wasn't sure what it did till you asked! I created a test one, and indeed, it will dial the number. But it first "Confirm Dial 574-265-xxxx?" first, then calls. I can see that one being useful on a business card...
I figured that would happen. it would be cool to eliminate that confirm screen. be quicker to hit a speed dial.
OK! So I did a little research, and now I find this totally kicks ass. I only found one place, so hope the link isn't violating any policies. Head over to http://mobilecodes.nokia.com/index.htm From here, you can make text documents, unlike the scanlife. You'll also need a REAL interface, which I found the best one at www.i-nigma.com, and get the reader. You can scan datamatrix, AND quick response 2d barcodes. Now I find this useful
Cool finds. I wish I could actually find places around that use them, so this could be used more in reality, rather than just my tinkering...
I was thinking the same....cool to fool with. Maybe i'll just move to Japan
And get REAL TV on my phone...
Supports only a few symbologies on purpose
I think the story is that Scanbuy is interested in limiting confusion and proliferation among users and is therefore supporting a limited number of symbologies. I think it COULD support other symbologies but it chooses not to in order to avoid confusion occurring in Europe.
FYI, if you are interested in checking out some potential use cases and practice your scanning, check out http://mobilebarcodesrock.blogspot.com/
i found one on the back of a bottle of irish spring body wash and i couldn't get it to scan.
Post a pic of it if you can, maybe one of us can get it to work.
Good idea...i've yet to see one in the "real world"
I can't post one because i'm on my q, but I tried taking a pic of it and it doesn't take worth a crap. go figure!
I've been trying to get the app to scan the other two types of EZcodes, data matrix and QR. Has anyone had any luck with these?
i have been using scanlife and i-nigma and have yet to find something to scan (other than dafox's avatar) in the real world..but i am prepared for the day!
The i-nigma scanner that I told you about in the last page of posts scans these. And no, it won't read FedEx, because theirs is proprietary to FedEx.
Ok yeah the I-Nigma scanner does work on those.
