Sask_joe > Howdy! from somewhere in Texas.

See you already met the ( ahem) moderators, two of the greatest guys I've never met :nyuk-nyuk-nyuk: A month, you say? Bet it's the longest 30 days of your life!

This place is the place for questions, answers and friendly banter so (as they say somewhere) make yourself to home.

    Horale!

    Yes, it's really my name.

Had my Q for like a year or so. I'm stoked on it. I've done some of my own troubleshooting for the lock-up/start up "hanging"-thing. I contributed to that thread, and the Self Portrait thread in the Q forums. I'm looking forward to expanding the memory on the phone, hacking some features and checking out other software available.

Uhh, what else...I'm 31, I just moved from San Deigo, CA to Panama City Beach, FL. I miss SD pretty bad, but there's a lot more opportunities for me to get a fire fighting job out here, and it's waaaay cheaper so that's cool too. I live w/my girlfriend, and her 2 kids, and we have a son of our own arriving in Dec. (hopefully, he makes it that long, he's been trying to get out early
   )

Yes that's me in my sig. I like drifting, it feels good, and I can do it right after eating without having to wait 30-45 mins like swimming [thumbs up] There's some videos of me and my team here: www.myspace.com/westslideconnection

    Guess that's it, laters,

    G.

    Hello & general ?'s about my Q

    Hey,

Great site from what I can see so far. (Gonna spend $$ here) UGGG!

I've had my Q for a few months after trading in a blackberry. There are still some things I'm not understanding/or getting to work right. (atleast in my mind)

I'll pre-qualify by saying I'm barely PC literate and appearently a wireless moron.

As I look thru this forum, i get the impression there is more then one style "Q". 9m, CDMA, GSM.
I know CDMA and GSM are "networks" but outside of that, I know nothing.

I have a Motorola Q, serviced by Sprint.

I dont have outlook on any of my PC's only outlook express. So I've not been able to sinc the phone to the PC. (which I dont think is an issue.)

Amung serval, I mainly use a Yahoo email. I've followed Yahoo's steps and what little steps I've understood in the Q manual to get email. ANd I dont really have it. (that I can tell)

The "Q" has Y! go on it. So I can open that and check my yahoo email. BUT, I dont get any alerts when there is new email. Can the Q do this?

I have 2 yahoo accounts: The free one, plus a paid one with my owm .com. The paid one automatically gets forwarded to the free account. So I dont have to switch accounts to get or even send mail from either. Is there a way to get only the paid yahoo account to be sent to the Q then notify me of a new message?

GPS?'s Thru the yahoo Y!go program, I can access maps, both satalite and street views as well as get "mapquest type" directions. What do I need to get GPS on the Q? I've seen hardware on this site from $$ to $$$. But not sure what I want/need. I've also seen software here, (for I think around $20.) My blackberry had GPS with no extra hardware, can I do this with my Q?

Thanks in advance for any/all your help. ANd for any beatings for stupid questions or posting in the wrong place, well, I guess I'll take those as well.

    Thanks.

The answer to your first question is yes, with Pocket Outlook. The answer to your second question is yes, with Pocket Outlook. I do not know about the third question.

    Check out this link.

I think you can use IMAP with Yahoo instead of POP. IMAP would be preferable. I could not find any information on setting that up though with a quick search.

The basic POP, SMTP, and login details are here.

i remember when drifters were some on that travelled around with little or no destination.

    funny how things change.

Everyone misses Cali when they leave all the best to you and your family!
