    RSS Reader help

I do not have a data plan on my Verizon account, but do have the SD wifi card. I have installed Viigo RSS reader in hopes that I would be able to open Viigo while in a hot spot, update the channels, and shut down Viigo.

When I am away from a hot spot and open Viigo, it automatically opens my broadband link, costing me $$.

Isn't this the way that RSS readers are supposed to work? As an alternative to Viigo, I am not opposed to getting suggestions on other FREE readers out there. I just want something to work the way that I have described above.

Viigo mainly connects to the Internet on two points.
One way is, if you have a setting to allow Auto Updates.
Second way is, every time you launch Viigo it will try to connect and update your device with latest articles.
So each time this happens, your device will attempt to connect to the Internet, hence turning on your broadband connection.
The work around for this is the following:
    First, Turn Auto Updates off
From the Viigo main screen, click Menu->Options->Remove the Check Mark in Auto Updates. Save the changes.
    Second,
While you are in a WIFI Zone, launch Viigo and Update all channels.
When this process is done, instead of exiting Viigo using the Exit button, you should just Escape out of the application and let Viigo run in the background.
The next time you open Viigo on your device, it will not try to connect. But you will still have the option to read all your brief articles and Blogs.
I hope you find this helpful.

there are multiple methods to get the app from their site..email, sms, desktop installer etc. Once you get it you just sign in with your user/pass stuff under menu>options>menu>account.

Did you try from your mobile getviigo.com?

    hope that helps!

    edit...there you go!

The Viigo download link is back up now. We are in the proces of upgrading our system to keep up with the high demand for Viigo Applications. We are trying our best to make this process invisible to our users.Thank you all, for your patience.

nevahmind... i was under the assumption that "feeds" are send to you by either sms or email, misunderstanding on my side.

hmz... how about a RSS feed thread, to discuss some cool ones.?
