This is kind of a geeky solution, and I'm not sure if the RIAA would approve, but I use a wave editor to clip/modify and reduce the size of my MP3's, then upload w/ active sync. That way I get exactly what I want.

This is one of what I consider to be a real beautiful thing about our Q's - no GIN costs, or subs needed. If you can sync (BT, wireless, wired, etc) you can put any sound you want on your Q. Nice eh?

Any free/simple to use editor's that you can recommend? I've not delved into this world thus far.

Audacity works well, is simple to use and free. You can download it from sourceforge at: Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder

The link Simpson posted above has a good tutorial on using Audacity to create ringtones. I tried it and it works great.
