i know but i just want it to work:laugh2:
yeah, i know !!! what sucks is before i did the 6.1 update i used to be able to receive ems, now i dont know what the hell happened.
Not sure that this had anything to do with it but I ran SK Tools and cleaned up some crap on my storage card and tada my text messaging works now. Maybe it was just a Halloween spook.
I never saw the link to the text shared reg file on page 3. It doesn't ask me if I want to write to registry. It just opens up my PHM registry editor. Am I doing something wrong?
did you d/l the reg... http://mq.roeiboot.com/public/TextShared.zip and after that "execute" with the File Manager ? is you phone locked by chance ?
Yes, I did download the zip file and execute with file manager. Now that I think about it, I have done a Master Reset a couple times and I may not have unlocked the phone again. I'll try to do that when I get home and I'll chime back in.
My phone is unlocked. When I execute the .reg file, it just starts up my PHM Registry Editor. Perhaps it's not meant to be on my phone. I thank you for your help.
in that case i would advice to do the hack manually..
I've tried to add this manually many times and ways, just can't seem to get it to work.
If I understand this correctly. I open the TextShared folder and create a DWORD called EMSHandlerInstalled with a value of 1. Is that it? Also, do I leave the DWORD IS637MaxAsciiCharacters with the value of 238 in the TextShared directory?
BTW, I'm using a Q1 with WM5.0
this may not work on the Q1... i have never tried when i had one.
had the exact same problems u did. i'm running 6.1 though, not that it should make a difference. keep us posted if u do get it to work though, thanks
i have a Q1 w/ 5.0 & this works fine for me off the 1st try. try to turn the phone off & on after you do the hack. thats what i did. also make sure that you have the right letters capitalized in the Dword.
i also read somewhere that if you change the max characters # to a higher # w/o creating a Dword, you sms should allow that many characters in a msg. i never tried it but it may be worth a shot.
still cant get this to work tried everything on my q9m with 6.1
as somebody mentioned, it works on some Q's... not all.
