I'm trying to stream radio from station websites. Hardly any apps for radio on Samsung Focus. AT&T Radio ANNOYINGLY costs extra even with my wi-fi. CS told me I'd pay $8:99 for radio, on top of my data plan? Anyone knows how to side-step this? I still have my iPhone with tons of free streaming radio apps. I'm within return calendar of the Focus.

I searched the Marketplace for "radio", and about 30 apps popped up. None of those apps had your favorite stations?

Yes, yes, yes. I finally nailed it. I already downloaded two, Soundtrckr and Slacker. I'm just wondering why would AT&T expect people to pay extra for radio on top of data plan?

Pandora has not yet been released to WP7.

I'm guessing Pandora is locked up in the AT&T extra subscription for radio? Somebody needs to advise Microsoft about the millions of free apps on the iPhone and Android that makes AT&T subscriptions worthless and counterproductive to market penetration of the WP7s

No it's not locked up. Pandora is holding out on porting their app to WP7. Supposedly, because lack of multi-tasking.

I see. But I think Soundtrck is great. Slacker is actually living up to its name, the volume is annoyingly low even though the overall set up - access to individual stations, genres - is much better

I don't really use online radio anymore since I've got a Zune Pass.

Is MSFT looking at multi-tasking? This will interest developers otherwise how many of us want to just have radio on and do nothing else with their handset? Unless you'r in the shower, I guess. But it's not a problem with official music apps. Which is a consolation.

I'm learning one thing per day. Coming from iPhone was a little of a spoil brat. The platform is easier to follow but WP7 is fresh and refreshing!

Rumors all point to a Jan or Feb update, which will include multi-tasking, among other things. Of course, it's just a rumor as MS has neither denied nor verified.

If you have a Zune Pass, you can download or stream almost all of Zune's millions of songs.
